Dear angler and friend,
Welcome to a new mini festival over two days, 30- 31: th May 2014 at Colemans, Cottage, Essex UK.
The Fishery - Colemans Cottage Fishery has five lakes, all are typical of UK Commercial fisheries and
are very heavily stocked with carp up to 6 kilo, carassio to 1kilo, barble to 2 kilo plus other small fish.
In 6 hour matches catches of 100kg + are common.
We will fish at the Woods on Friday and Pathfield on Saturday with a maximum of 32 anglers. We will
make the International Match a "fun" event and will make sure that the visiting anglers catch plenty
of fish and have the opportunity to try UK methods.
In May, the fishing is very good and 50kg is only an average weight.
The fishery is open every day so anglers can arrive early for practice.
A UK fishing license will be needed. The cost is £10 for adults (one week). A license can be bought
directly from a website or from a Post office. Instructions will follow later.
Tackle required (there is a tackle shop at the fishery) you will not need to do lots of preparation or
bring lots of tackle. The fishing is quite simple and only very simple tackle is needed – pole, feeder
and waggler fishing on short distance.
All fishing will be done from wooden platforms so waders and platforms etc. are not needed.
The longest walk from car park to a fishing platform is <> 100m so wheels also not essential.
Dinner and breakfast can be ordered every day at the fishery (practice and competition).
Main meal and desert is £11 per person. Breakfast/Full English £6 per person.
REGULATIONS
13m pole length limit.
All hooks must be BARBLESS.
The feeders must be free running on the line. Fixed elasticated feeders are not allowed.
You will need minimum two keep nets (one for carp & one for silverfish).
Visiting anglers will have the possibility to borrow keep nets from the fishery.
BAITS AND GROUNDBAITS
Bait required (bait is available at the fishery)
The best baits in May will be hard pellets (micro, 4, 6 & 8mm), sweet corn, hemp, and maggots for
hook bait if feeding the method feeder.
Paste can be very good if you like fishing with this bait. For the method feeder you can use either a
fishmeal ground bait or wet micro pellets.
BAIT LIMIT
The MAXIMUM to be used each match is - 5 x 300g tins of corn plus 1kg (dry) of ground bait plus 8
pints total (4.5 l) of other bait (pellets, hemp, maggots) - but you will not use this much bait.
The following baits cannot be used:
Meat baits; Boilies; Artificial baits; Bloodworm & Joker; Any nuts; Surface/floating baits.
Baits can be ordered directly from the fishery in advance. A bait order form will be sent out to all
participants.

Witham, Essex on the bank of the River Blackwater, with easy access from Coleman's Bridge on the
nearby A12. Distance from London about 30 miles (NE).
